We love sustainability

At LAC swim, we wanted to create swimwear that was not only stylish and high-quality but also constructed with the environment in mind, which is why each piece is proudly made using a high-quality regenerated eco-friendly fabric made from ECONYLⓇ.

Proudly Canadian, and named after the great lakes, LAC swim promises always to consider the environment first, when sourcing, crafting and producing our products.

By using Italian Vita fabric made with 78% ECONYLⓇ regenerated nylon, and 22% Spandex, not only are we providing the ladies of LAC with an incredibly soft and high-quality suit, but also peace of mind in knowing the origins of their swimsuit.

Once we discovered the story behind ECONYLⓇ, we knew it would be an excellent fit for our brand.

The ECONYLⓇ regeneration system begins by rescuing waste like fishing nets from oceans and other nylon waste from landfills all around the world, which is then sorted and cleaned in order to recover as much nylon as possible.

Through a radical regeneration and purification process, the nylon waste is recycled right back to its original purity. That means ECONYL® regenerated nylon is exactly the same as virgin nylon.

ECONYLⓇ regenerated nylon is then processed into a yarn which creates various different textiles, including the fabric for your swimsuit.

After the transformation into beautiful fabric has been complete now enters—LAC swim. We’ve curated and designed a unique boutique collection, that will have you looking and feeling confident, comfortable and ready to explore the unknown.

The environment matters

For every 10,000 tons of ECONYLⓇ, raw material 70,000 barrels of crude oil are saved and 57,100 tons of CO2 emissions are avoided.

ECONYL® Regenerated Nylon is also better when it comes to climate change by reducing the global warming impact by up to 80% in comparison to the virgin materials from oil.
